I noticed a mark behind my Felicity's right ear above where her neck is stamped Pleasant Company. I'm wondering if it's the artist's mark. I tried to take a picture of it, but it didn't show up. The mark looks sort of like a number sign and the script letter E.
Edit: What exactly does the Artist's mark mean?

Edit again: On closer inspection, it doesn't look like a script E, it looks more like a lowercase e.

I can't believe I've never noticed that before! I checked my Molly and she also has it. Does the artist's mark make dolls rare? Does it indicate that the doll was made under Pleasant Company?
This is so weird! My Kirsten and Addy also have Artist's marks! When did dolls start having the Artist's mark? This is really odd about my Addy, because I got her in 2004, but I thought the Artist's mark was just a Pre-Mattel thing?

My Kit has a mark near her neck that looks like a # sign also, but there is a #2 next to it. Does this mean anything?

Kailey also has an Artist's mark. Is it normal for six dolls that belong to one person to have the Artist's mark?

Does anyone know what makes the Artist's mark dolls different than the other dolls?

I think Addys still have the artist's mark, actually. It doesn't mean that they are all Pre-mattel. maybe it is just an old mold mattel is using. As for the rest of the dolls, from what I have gathered I think it means they are Pleasant Company dolls.

If I were to sell the other dolls on Ebay and mentioned they have the Artist's mark, about how much would they sell for?
It's odd the Kailey ahs the Artist's mark though, as she was made years after Pleasant sold AG to Mattel.

My Addy, that I got directly from AG in late 2005 also has the artist's mark. I made a thread on this awhile ago, and I was told that they were still using the same molds for the Addy dolls.

Any of the molds made by Gotz have it. Not necessarly the dolls made by Gotz, but the MOLDS they had made.
I have a huge Gotz toddler doll that has the same mark.
